I say let her eat as much ice cream as she wants. She paid her fair share in taxes and she's old as f*ck. Leave the old hag alone. She earned her right to eat herself into an ice cream coma.

Dammit, when I'm old as f*ck like Pelosi, I sure hope people don't try to judge me when my freezer is full of cheesecakes.

I say let her eat what she wants too, but I don't think anyone is saying she shouldn't have ice cream they are criticizing her for showing it off in the way she did.

And let us face it: if Trump pulled that shit right now people would go ballistic lol.

Yeah, no kidding. We'd never hear the end of it even though the world is goin' thru a pandemic. Any opportunity to attack the orange meanie and scream "Orange man bad!!" they take it. To hell w/whatever else is goin' on in the country or world.

My pantry used to be full of protein bars, protein puffs, fiber bars, and protein crisps.

I've eaten through a lot of them. Certainly had a much lower cost than Dinner Dash or drive-thru.

I might have to order more on Amazon if they extend this beyond April.

If I showed off my stash, people might get butthurt and upset. But then it would sink in that almost no one would find my food appetizing. Then it would all calm down.

Who cares if she got a lot of ice cream? Why does it matter that she bought a lot of ice cream? You do know that the stores always had plenty? It was the hand sanitizer, masks, gloves, diapers, bread, and meats that were hoarded.

It's still a nothing burger, Surtur. This is another one of those bullshit partisan talking points that really really doesn't matter.

Talk about Fauci and the funding for viral research in Wuhan. There's a $3.7 million connection there that seems far more important than an old lady who like ice cream. Or how about the probably harmful 'shelter in place' and lockdown policies that were instituted against the recommendations of many other epidemiologists? That seems to be a really big deal.

Actually, my store ran out of ice cream except for Vanilla and Chocolate.

And who the hell wants that?

Which store?

When I went to Target and Walmart, they had tons of icrecream. But cascades of empty shelves regarding the stuff I mentioned. It was like no one wanted ice cream. Or frozen peas.

Stop and Shop.

I love plain vanilla ice cream (especially with hershey's syrup poured over it). Chocolate, not so much.

I personally do not feel it matters(just like Trump getting an extra scoop of ice cream didn't matter) I was merely explaining to you why some are going after her. Of course the fact we do live in an era where people got butthurt over Trump having an extra scoop of ice cream should have been reason enough for her to know this was not a good idea.

Also whether you like it or not if you were a politician and during this pandemic you showed off some large stock of protein bars yeah some would give you shit over it. People wouldn't be concerned with how appetizing it is.

Btw is that really what your diet mostly consists of? Protein bars and stuff? Just curious not judging.

Enough to post the story about it though.

Indeed I enjoy the hypocrisy of leftists, doesn't mean I actually care about her eating ice cream 🙂

Of course you don't.

Awesome, we've established that inarguable fact then.

I agree that this doesn't matter including the extra scoop.

And, yes, that's really what I have to live off of. Nothing much else to eat. I get cheese as well. And bananas. I eat 1 banana a day.

Speaking of, I'm hungry. I want food.

"Making of N****Rs" TikTok Gets HS Students Expelled, College Offers Pulled

Disgusting. I have no sympathy for these 2 teens. The girl tried to blame her boyfriend:

"I want to apologize for the abhorent video I posted. I know in my heart how wrong it was. My BF is racist and he slowly normalized his racism on me. I believe blacks are human too, made in the image of Christ. I have disapointed God and I want to apologize."

But then later on after college offers got pulled she made posts about white power.

They royally f*cked up their lives. The response they are getting isn't proportionate to what they did, but what did they expect to happen?

i disagree. Trumps extra scoop doesn't matter at all 2 me. While i dont think pelosi should be strung up for her vid, showing off all ur food while so many people are scraping by was dumb and super douchey.

Plain and simple it was a dick move.

The response does seem proportionate. In a "free market", if people don't like racism, they don't like it. That means people can choose to not do business with you with they do not like the ideas you represent.

Going to college, you are the college's customer. You are a paying customer. If a business doesn't want KKK patrons, they should get to refuse business to them. Same thing for college students.

This is literally the same scenario as the Cake Baker dude. Except the Cake Baker's are now the colleges.

I think you make a good argument through the lens of an "absolutely free market". Of course many will argue that government and institutions also have a responsibility to shape what is acceptable, so it's not necessarily a contradiction that someone may think the cake baker should be compelled to serve his customers, while the university is right to not accept them.

Delve more into your argument, here. I think there's much more behind your point that's worth discussing.

Keep in mind, my comment came with a load of baggage where I took a hard stance on the Cake Baker not making gay-cakes for a gay-wedding. I said a business should get to refuse potential-patrons for whatever reason and the market should vote with their dollars (this is where I get libertarian in my political beliefs).

It seems you would suggest we differentiate the types of business, based on the 'wares they peddle', that can carte blanche discriminate.

I didn't mean to make a statement on which lens is superior one way or the other. I have multiple thoughts regarding the topic of the racist Tik Tok video, as well as the Gay Wedding Cake Baker, that are in tension with each other.

My point in this was more that there is an in itself logical argument to be made where you can hold the opinion I laid out. If you start with the axiom that it is one of the duties the government, and institutions of power in society (like universities) to work to protect minorities, and you define some of these minorities that as LGBT People and Black people, it is in itself consistent that you may arrive at a conclusion saying, the government should compel the baker to serve a gay couple, for not to serve the gay couple is discrimination, and at the same time believe that the Universities this couple has applied to should refuse them on the count that they have conducted themselves in a racist manner, which would be to the detriment of Black people that they have a duty to protect.

I hope that makes it more clear.
