I didn't mean to make a statement on which lens is superior one way or the other. I have multiple thoughts regarding the topic of the racist Tik Tok video, as well as the Gay Wedding Cake Baker, that are in tension with each other. My point in this was more that there is an in itself logical argument to be made where you can hold the opinion I laid out. If you start with the axiom that it is one of the duties the government, and institutions of power in society (like universities) to work to protect minorities, and you define some of these minorities that as LGBT People and Black people, it is in itself consistent that you may arrive at a conclusion saying, the government should compel the baker to serve a gay couple, for not to serve the gay couple is discrimination, and at the same time believe that the Universities this couple has applied to should refuse them on the count that they have conducted themselves in a racist manner, which would be to the detriment of Black people that they have a duty to protect.
I hope that makes it more clear.
Oh, I see. And that point is very obvious, now. facepalm My bad.
It's the "be as inclusive as possible" position and punish those who are not inclusive.
Makes sense, that's where they (the "be as inclusive as possible to all progressive ideals" crowd) wanted the situationto go. That crowd would have been very pleased with the Cake Baker dude being sued out of business and for the kids to be unable to attend any post-secondary education institutions. And it is logically consistent with their ideologies.
