And yeah that is him. Turns out some evidence apparently turned up showing the protester that got shot had a weapon on him, a knife. Definitely self defense if true.

Keep in mind the investigation is still ongoing. So he could still get charged.

To clarify it's not the cops saying the thing about the guy having a weapon though. Apparently there are photos.

But I don't think it matters if the guy had a knife. They chased after him after he was trying to leave
