No, you don't understand Christ's message of turning the other cheek. It is in defiance of their abuse. If they slap you, you turn the other cheek so they can slap the other cheek.Meeting violence with more violence simply doesn't work. It emboldens them, makes them martyrs, and justifies their cause. Like what we've been seeing.
Ok, ddd. If someone punches you in the gut because they don't like your politics then feel free to be a pussy and just take it if you think you are following in Christ's footsteps. As for myself, if someone tries that with me they will be getting their asses kicked. Period. You can try to guilt trip me all you like but it will have literally zero effect on me, bud, I promise you that.
If you accuse me of not following Christ for retaliating that's fine. I don't really care for a mormon of all people lecturing me about what Christ would do anyway. That's almost just as bad as being lectured by a roman catholic lol.
After all, you also seem to be one of those people who think people can get to Heaven just by being a "loving person" and doing what they feel is the right thing rather than putting all of their faith instead into what Jesus did for them on the cross even though the Bible clearly says the only way to the Father is thru Jesus Christ and Him alone and that your "good works" are like dirty rags to Him.
And yes, when someone commits violence against you and you just sit there and take it it only emboldens them to commit more acts of violence against you. That is just common friggin' sense.. you don't have to be an Einstein to understand that, ffs.
Appeasement only makes the aggressor even more aggressive.
