The headmaster of Lakeside Christian School in Slidell has been arrested on three counts of child cruelty for taping shut the mouths of three of his students. Pastor John Raymond, 60, is accused of bringing three students, who were said to be talking too much in class, to his office on March 18th.

Slidell Police said that interviews of students, as well as parents and faculty at Lakeside Christian, led them to conclude that Raymond became angry, and at some point, used packing tape to tape the students' mouths shut by wrapping it around their heads.

Police said that Raymond then sent the children back to class with their mouths shut and that lasted for about 45 minutes until another school administrator began feeling uncomfortable about the situation and used scissors to remove the tape. Police said the students complained they had trouble breathing.

Raymond unsuccessfully ran for the Slidell-based 90th District seat in the state House of Representatives in 2018. His campaign played heavily on his support of Donald Trump and his opposition to gay marriage, and Raymond touted himself as the most conservative Republican in a race that featured several other GOP candidates. He lost that race in a runoff to Mary DuBuisson, another Republican.

Raymond was a "Survivor" contestant in 2002, and was voted off the island in Thailand. A story published about his exit from "Survivor" described him as "bossy, domineering, and irritating." He has been active in state Republican politics as a member of the Louisiana Republican Party State Central Committee as credentials committee chair who determines if there is a quorum during meetings.

The 40-year-old has been incarcerated in the Boone County Jail since March after police said he told investigators he threw a concrete flower pot at his wife, Nikki Wilhoite, the night before, and dropped her body over the side of a bridge.

On the contrary, I'd argue you yourself are showing the Lefts habit of conviction BEFORE a trial.

The only reason he's able to run at all is because he's awaiting his day in court.

He confessed to the police. Should Republican voters not take him at his word? Should they not trust the word of law enforcement? "Back the Blue," and "Pro-Life," unless an election is on the line, amirite?

Kiesle, 75, told an officer he drank "a homemade ale and a Pacifico" beer before driving his 2012 Lexus RX350. Police say the Lexus ran over a curb, killing 64-year-old Curtis Gunn and injuring his wife.

Four days later, prosecutors filed manslaughter and drunk driving charges against Kiesle, and bail was set at $600,000. In court records, a Walnut Creek policeman wrote that when officers responded to the crash, Kiesle was trapped in his Lexus and required extraction. He was the only person in his car.

Kiesle, who served six years in prison after pleading no contest to molesting a young girl in 1995, was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility Saturday night on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI, according to booking records.

Beyond Kiesle's criminal history, the priest has been named in dozens of lawsuits accusing him of sexually abusing minors, including several new lawsuits in recent years.

Internal church documents show church officials knew about the accusations against Kiesle for years but failed to act, likely leading to the abuse of more children. Even after being arrested and convicted for tying up and molesting two boys in 1978, the church allowed Kiesle to continue working. He was not defrocked until 1987.

A Louisiana pastor and headmaster of a Christian school who is also a member of the sate Republican Party governing board has been arrested for a second time on juvenile cruelty charges. John Raymond, 60, pastor of New Horizon Church in Slidell and founder of Lakeside Christian Academy, is an elected member of the Louisiana Republican Party State Central Committee.

Police said the new allegations include Raymond holding a 4-year-old boy upside down by his ankles and "whipping his buttocks" and in a separate incident covering the same child's mouth and nose with his hand to stop a "tantrum." Witnesses reported Raymond's actions prevented the child from breathing "to the point of him going limp." A staff member said the child was "out of it and lethargic" and "unable to stand."

Molla reported to police that someone set fire to his camper "because it had a Trump 2020 flag displayed on it," and spray painted the anarchy symbol, "BLM," and "Biden 2020" on his garage door. The U.S. Attorney's Office says Molla actually lit the fire and defaced the garage himself.

Molla then filed an insurance claim for $300,000; receiving $61,000. He also took in $17,000 via GoFundMe.
