Florence County Magistrate, Jerry F. Rivers is presiding over a bond hearing Tuesday morning for four employees at a private school after being arrested on Monday in connection with allegations of child abuse, according to the Florence County Sheriff's Office. Laurin B. Boyce, 73, was charged with two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child, assault and battery, and aggravated and second-degree assault and battery.

Jessica Anngeline Elmore, 33, was charged with two counts of failing to report child abuse and neglect. Patrick, 54, was charged with failing to report child abuse and neglect, and criminal conspiracy. All arrested worked at Maranatha Christian School on W. Palmetto St. in Florence, according to Florence County Sheriff T. J. Joye.

Boyce "repeatedly slammed the head of a child into a crib" and dropped another child "from waist-height onto the (aforementioned) child's head."

Not to shift blame away from the deplorables that did this, because they're at fault, but Conservative Christian culture is also to blame. Something has to be done about Conservative Christianity if we're going to lesson child abuse in America.

Pastor Gabriel Hardy, 42, who is with Army of the Lord—Ministry of Defense church in Vancouver, Washington has been arrested for whipping a 6-year-old child with a belt hard enough to leave bruises and welts on the child's body.

A report from the Clark County Sheriff's Office states that Hardy claimed to be ordained by God to administer corporal punishment to children.

"SVU investigated this case and learned from witnesses that Hardy openly preached about corporal punishment of young children and professed that he was divinely ordained to chastise children," said CCSO in a statement February 21st. "Hardy admitted to the child's mother that he had whipped the child with a belt to discipline the child."

CCSO said officials arrested Hardy "without incident," and that the pastor was charged with Assault of a Child in the third degree.

A north Arkansas man pleaded guilty to stealing more than half a million dollars from a church. According to court records, 49-year-old Brian Keith Herring pleaded guilty in Boone County on Monday to theft of property, tampering with physical evidence, and second-degree forgery.

On October 13th 2021, prosecutors said Herring turned in a laptop, an iPad, and two phones that belonged to the church, which they noted had been factory reset, and all church account information had been deleted from them. Police said an audit revealed that $524,634.24 was taken by Herring, and used in credit card purchases and other account transactions.

Herring was sentenced Wednesday to serve 17 years probation for the theft of property charge, and 10 years probation for the forgery charge. He is also ordered to pay $100,000 in restitution to the church, and serve 800 hours of community service.

Theft over $25,000 is a Class B Felony in Arkansas, which is supposed to be punishable by 5–25 years in prison. This ******* steals over $500,000 and gets probation. Arkansas really is ****ing backwards.
