Tom Hanks is a bad actor in this
Technically this is the thread for the del Toro version, but yes, I watched the Tom Hanks version with my kids (most of it anyway) and it was mediocre at best. I think using live actors with the CGI was a bad decision. It's very awkward in parts. Should have gone full CGI with voice actors, honestly.
But my kids didn't care, they watched intently, which I was thankful for, haha.. It still has some charm to it at times, but yes, it's mostly bad.

My favorite version of Pinocchio is actually the minor character from the Shrek movies. He was great combination of pervy and silly which actually made him pretty charming.

I saw this at home today.Y’all……….watch this movie ASAP.
It’s absolutely mesmerizing.
The Zemekis version is dog shit compared to this one.
Bingo.
Turned it on with the family tonight. They didn't make it all the way through, but I did. It was great.
I was expecting to be more interested in the making of than the actual movie. But the movie is awesome. It's a brilliant retelling of the familiar story. I watched the making of featurette on Netflix, too. It's really cool.
8-9/10 del Toro
5-6/10 Zemekis
