Police given standown order in Virginia?

It appears police were given a standown order, by whom and why?

Lol...have you noticed they never seemed to care when the cops were standing back and during nothing when the violence was mostly one sided and coming from the left? Like they did at a Trump rally one time when a bunch of people against Trumps views on illegal immigrants got violent and were destroying shit. I guarantee you part of that was they knew that some of those people at the very least had to be illegal.

Or more recently with Antifa incidents, like the one with the admittedly hilarious part where they try to use a smokebomb and it gets blown back in their face and they run away. There was video footage of cops just chilling inside their cars during it.

TIL: Throwing smoke-bombs and running people over are both acts of violence, really, there is no difference

They were clearly given a stand down order. Only the major or governor could have given that order.

ACLU confirms police were ordered to stand down.

that just says "Clash between protesters and counter protesters. Police says "We'll not intervene until given command to do so."

any proof that the aclu accused the mayor of being responsible?

The only person that can order the police to not do their job is the mayor.

no proof then. noted.

weren't they state troopers?
