Enjoyed the book, enjoyed the original film, will wait until I see a preview for this before starting to pass judgment.
Am greatly enjoying how a female cast is making the MRA types flip out. Sure, have your reservations, that's sensible. But crying film-rape yet again, lolz.

If this movie about an all female cast stranded on a deserted island isn't a bunch of blonde, Norwegian lesbians eating and tonguing each others' asses in the sunlight on the beach and scissoring in the surf, then I'm not interested.
^ This guy should write an director the porn-parody version, imo

Indeed, thankfully nobody here is doing that yet.

Funny, because what little I've seen has "feminist" people complaining that women would never be that savage to each other... Which I guess means they don't know many women? I dunno.
MRAs generally don't care about stuff like that, from what I've seen.

Lol this makes me wonder...how will they handle "Piggy" then? That is like...totes fat shaming.

Even many feminists and such, from what I've seen, would rather have more original stuff made for them than gender bending reboots of things that already existed.
TBH, I'm not usually a fan of gender-bending stuff, as like you said an original idea is better. But, if it looks like it's a good lord of the flies film, then i'll most likely want to see it. a good movie is a good movie, etc.

I have NO idea.

Maybe the will make Female Piggy the Big Hero of the Book.
But then they could go the SJW Marvel route and all the "girls" on the island will be fat and ugly.
When it comes to casting her I think Melissa McCarthy is obviously too old, but I'm guessing the chick who played "Barb" in Stranger Things could maybe do it.
Or they could change the reason the nick name "Piggy" is given. Maybe a girl who just eats sloppy, like a pig?
They could scrap one aspect of the character and just focus on the other. What was notable about Piggy besides being piggish? Those glasses. So you could have a girl who has glasses and her nickname is "four eyes McGee".
I think when it comes to eye shaming vs fat shaming, the former is the lesser of two evils.

The more I think about this, the more I hope it is just not true lol. For all the talk of equality and all that...how can they spew this nonsense? People are savage, people. No gender is immune.
Lol too funny, PR wasn't exaggerating one single bit sadly.
One Einstein says:
"An all women remake of Lord of the Flies makes no sense because... the plot of that book wouldn't happen with all women."
Hmm, okay, another says:
"Two men are remaking Lord of the Flies with girls. Proving that they didn't understand it when they read it. Which is hilarious."
Hilarious indeed. Another:
"uhm lord of the flies is about the replication of systemic masculine toxicity
every 9th grader knows this
u can read about it on sparknotes"
Hmm, I see. Deeper into the rabbit hole we go:
"The female-led Lord of the Flies wouldn't ever happen because women would just branch off into their own respective groups peacefully"
Lol.
"We're literally living an all-male "Lord of the Flies" right now, but sure, let's see two male writers describe how women would be worse."
😆
