Oh and there is anger men are writing it. But to be fair, someone competent could make it a decent movie. It could be a film that explores the nature of humanity itself, and what happens when suddenly you have no law, no government, etc. Especially because some would not expect to see this behavior from women.

I recall the original being black & white then a remake in the 80's.
I just remember having to read the novel in school & hating it.
The actual style of writing was bleak & abrupt...very cold & impersonal descriptions of both the kids & island.
