TBF, they've already killed off all except Rocket. They could just not bring them back in 2019 with IF2 if they're really set on leaving the franchise.

I think if Waititi is going to take over GotG, this is the best way to go. Thor becoming a part of GotG would be wonderful, they had great chemistry in Infinity War.

Also will be super interesting to see where Gunn goes from here. From the sound of it DC wants him bad.

Not bringing them back could be one way. But I've heard that they are going to use Gunn's script for the most part. And Bautista has said that he wants to be released if they did not use Gunns script.

So if they are going to use gun script for part 3 for the most part then I would assume that gun included all the Guardians back.
I still think that they are going to tweak it to maybe kill a few off. I don't know. *Shrug*

Yeah, probably won't be too hard to write out Drax's parts, especially if they replace him with another comic-relief style character.

Personally, I think no one quits the franchise in the end, the anger will pass, a new director will be hired and GotG will go on mostly as already scripted. I'd also bet Gunn would step in and tell them not to quit on his behalf.

Correct it’s about the script for Dave. I’m really disappointed it looks like it won’t be Gunn directing.

Seems like even Bautista is fully aware that he's in all likelyhood staying on regardless of Gunn's fate, this was said before Disney's final ruling:

In reality: Disney is not "der Leftist!", they're a mega entertainment corporation and I would bet that dollars to donuts that many of their top execs and board members are likely Republican/Conservative since you're dead-set on this angle.
