Was this actually stated in the movie or is this some H1 level speculation?

If a nuke hit Sokovia (which is classified as a "country"😉 , it would have destroyed most of the buildings, homes and landscape. It would have not blown it up to pieces like it was destroyed in AOU.

Doomsday.

I don't recall, did the movie actually state he was getting stronger because he absorbed the nuke's energy.

yes. i believe the exact quote from the general was that Doomsday was "unkillable" due to absorbing and getting stronger from any energy sent his way

Un-killable to al things ...except having a pointy stick shoved thru his chest...

I didn't recall that, a couple of questions. Number one, did he say this before or after the nuke?

After the nuke.

And they showed a very brief missle camera view as the nuke hit, and it looked like Doomsday took the actual impact with Superman just behind him. He was a very very nasty bad boy.

Thank you, I was dreading having too re-watch part of the movie in order to find it. Sounds like the general was just guessing. I mean, I doubt he's qualified to distinguish between absorption and adaption.

I just feel awkward reading this sentence knowing it's about some kind of weird alien rock monster.

Not on the scale of the others probably, but Drax getting drug and thrown around behind the space ship was pretty impressive.

Remember that time in X2 a cop shot Wolverine in the forehead and nothing happened?

Heh, me neither.

It's as if people prefer to to think about just that and not about either of his Weapon X escape scenes where he's practically Luke Cage.

Uh no? Its not even close to that and Thor would've been vaporized if not for Tony using a heat shield to save him.

We already saw that Mjolnir hitting vibranium amplifies Thor's striking earlier when Thor hits Cap's shield against Hydra soldiers.

The fact that they outright say that Thor hitting Spire would only crack it should tell you that Thor wasn't capable of destroying the city or close to it.

Abhi will go to absolutely ridiculous lengths to downplay Thor though, so his posts on the topic should be considered little more than popcorn material.

You know, for me, I'd rank them as follows:

1) Doomsday: withstood a nuke without any apparent ill effects whatsoever...

2) Wolverine: withstood a nuke while being heavily damaged, but he remained conscious and made a full recovery quickly afterwards...

3) Thor: was able to survive a detonation that was greater than what an individual nuke could achieve, but was KO'ed...

4) Superman: survived a point blank nuclear explosion, but was KO'ed as a result...

5) Hulk: survived a fall from a very great height and survived...

6) Apocalypse: his greatest feat of durability I can think of (attacks endured via shielding dont count) is having his throat cut by Psylocke and it not really having much effect upon him...

Some things mentioned are more damage soak than durability. And yes, there is a difference. For example, Luke Cage has immense durability, but Punisher has immense damage soak. One is not taking damage, while the other is being able to keep on trucking despite damage taken.

Wolverine is a damage soak feat. He was damaged. Also the nuke wasn't point blank. It was from a significant distance and in a well for extra protection.
