Also....erm...she was packing the power of every hero on Earth at the time.

So not just herald level, lol. Unless one thinks the entirety of Marvel Earth is equal to one herald......

I won't mention any names, but you and I BOTH know there ARE people that think that on this board ...

Picking X-Men's Rogue from the arc where she fought Exitar the Celestial World-Crushing Judge probably would have done it. I debated going that route myself. Then again, judging simply from the name, you probably DO have something like that in mind.

That’s a negative Ghost Rider

Penance Stare?

hmm, forum rules say we can specify a particular version of a character--ie a version from one specific arc--so i guess that means we can draft a very specific version of a character as long as they don't appear to breach hh. which, when you think about it is ridiculous because any hh worth anything have feats that FAR exceed the hh range of powers....

You had me check to see where Ghost Rider ranks according to KMC's tier list just now. He's actually BELOW Herald level?!? Do you realize how hard it would be even for Flash to beat a guy who is immortal AND supernatural AND who has regeneration? Who exactly decided on GR's placement?

Hence, Dr Strange.

hmm

I'm thinking now what a monkey wrench Boston Brand would throw into this contest. How could you harm such a character?
For that matter, what exactly would "winning" mean for him?
(He's already dead!)

The really interesting question: If Brand waited till all but one contestant was eliminated, and then possessed that person and caused them to commit suicide, would that count as a forfeit, draw, or victory, or no contest in terms of a tourney like this?

I think he might fall under self BFR, being constantly out of phase

Plus, Doom is here. And if you drop WW, say, then someone else may pick her up, with her lasso.

Edit: plus Snowbird, Mjolnir, Loki etc.

But to answer your question, Boston would be last man standing, so if allowed (being dead and all) then he'd be the winner.

@Bluewater

Rogue from when She took on Exitar would not be a valid draft. You would need to look into other characters

Is Boston considered magic? There's always a counter: In his case, Magik and her soul sword. Or Wonder Woman and her lasso.

Is everyone still active? I ask cuz some posters havent posted since page 2

I'm in.

Nah, I was only thinking out loud. Never, after deciding on Wonder Woman over Rogue just before typing "Wonder Woman" in this thread, was I seriously thinking about switching her. Only real debate in my mind right now is whether I should offer "Nu52" Wonder Woman to anyone who wants her, since I intended to use pre-2009 era Diana. Fact, I'll do so, and suggest I'd readily team with almost anyone who decided to pick NuDiana up. Contest should be more interesting with more participants ...

Just as an aside, blue, we have a one post limit here for the tourney (which differs from other BZs).

Just something to keep in mind, we usually run into trouble keeping things succint lol. Or at least I do.

That's why the judging would have been arbitrary.

1. Full stoppage of Exitar ultimately required the help of Death Seed Sentry to completely halt his descent and Thor with Jarnbjorn (or whatever the name of his deus ex machina ax was) to end Exitar for good. Exitar could not be reasoned with or dissuaded from the murder of billions by winning a simple strength contest, and Marvel doesn't rank Rogue QUITE high enough to allow her that privilege anyway. Somebody would surely argue that, because she needed assistance to fully succeed, Rogue STILL didn't have the ability to hang with the DC powerhouses

-OR-

2. They would argue Rogue was TOO powerful in that arc, classifying fully at that point as a trans-tiered character.

Rogue had or has the ability to express powers from people previously touched throughout her history to this point, though. And had or has the ability to control how debilitating her physical touch is to other people. Would have made a VERY interesting opponent in this tourney considering Hulk, Wonder Man, Thor, and Professor Xavier count among her contacts.

You filled the blanks with something I didn't imply.

I meant that Rogue needed help to get the massive AMP.

A) She needed the Scarlet Witch to enhance her ability to store the power of All Earth Heroes.

B) She needed the participation of those heroes.

PS:

1. I know about this. You can notice that the power of all Heroes combined was unoticeable by Exitar (this guy is more powerful than the complete 4th host aka Arishem and other Celestials, when Arishem alone literally dwarves the 3 most powerful skyfathers).

2. IMO Rogue would shit on characters like Thanos in this state. She could probably tear Thanos apart easily.

I think that she is WAAAY too powerful for this tourney.

Does anyone here know who Magician is from Ultimate Xmen?

Since he doesn't have a tiering, do you think I can use him??? 🙂

I asked that question because I know a lot of people isn't familiar with him.

Just my 2 cents, but try to pick a character with lots of feats to draw on. 😉

I'm leaning Quasar, but he doesn't have that many feats. However, the one's he does have are pretty beastly.
