2. Albus wasn't fighting to dead nor looking to defeat Voldemort. The entire fight revolved arround Albus protecting Potter, not trying to put down Voldi. This is something that many potterfans recognize.
Furthermore, Grindelwald did hold his ground against an enraged and determined Albus. In fact, their fight is said to be the greatest wizzard duel of all times, since it lasted so long.
