The new Marvel Cinematic Universe and its future

They can even do one year let alone ten.

Another interesting thing I heard, which could connect to this down the line. Apparently the next Ant-Man film will explore the idea of the multiverse more (of which there have been hints of in Dr Strange and the first Ant-Man film). So, if Disney do manage to regain these properties, they're already seemingly setting up a means through which to potentially connect it back to the MCU. Could just say the X-Men are from another Earth, and act like the F4 films never happened.

^ Doubt they would do that. More likely they would just start integrating mutants and X-Men into the MCU.

Unless Marvel wants to keep them separate, but I doubt it given their history of everything being in the same cinematic universe. Even things that don’t really connect like the Netflix shows.

Well, they don't need to remain separate. They can be merged down the line, after the initial connection has been established. Just need to come up with a plot reason for it.

Netflix is run by a separate team so they truly do not connect.

All the TV stuff feels disconnected at this point, even from each other. I mean I do enjoy a bunch of the Marvel shows, but they feel more and more separate as time goes by. For example, if it wasn't for Karen Page and a cameo by Turk, and that we had already seen Frank on DD S2, Punisher could have been set in a totally different universe to the other Netflix stuff.

Films are far superior to the tv series anyways.

Disney is now the favorite to acquire 21st Century Fox's media assets; all signs lead to some kind of official announcement coming soon

The Murdochs would also get a 25% percent stake in Disney. James Murdoch could be in position for CEO when Iger is done.

Whatever happens, X-Men and Fantastic Four are definitely going back to Marvel. If another company buys the Fox library, the rights automatically revert back to Marvel. If Disney buys the Fox library, then the rights naturally revert back to Marvel.

So the only way this doesn’t happen is if Fox decides to keep their movie division running

Lets hope it does not. A 25% stake should be enough.

Can't wait for Cyclops and Wolverine to tell some hilarious quips, and **** creativity goodbye Legion and exploring other film genres! More generic teamup films with sarcastic puns galore! Let's not forget Babygroot running around the Xmansion and dance offs like Starlord! No Rated R films or anything that can upset 13 year olds

Carthage, you being upset over this brings me great joy. Disney runs shit, boy.

Disney has done R rated movies where they've released them through another studio.

I need FF in the MCU!!! That's all I want for Christmas!

That would put me off this deal completely. Don’t do it Disney!

Let Murdoch remain a “creative” of his own damn right wing propaganda machine.

You realise that would be an upgrade for Cyclops, right?
