The ALL DEAD Club

Fellow writers and friends all remembered the various facets of the life and work of William “Bill” Kittredge, after his death on Friday at age 88.

As a writer, he was best known for his 1992 memoir about his youth on an Oregon ranch, “Hole in the Sky,” and a collection of essays, “Owning it All.” He co-created “The Last Best Place,” a 1,200-page anthology of Montana literature, from the earliest Indigenous storytelling to the present. He coined the title phrase himself, which has become an unofficial state motto that he fought to keep from a private trademark.

As a 30-year emeritus professor, he helped build the reputation of the Creative Writing Program at the University of Montana, mentoring generations of authors.

He's probably right about the cancer thing. The medical industry wouldn't want a cure for cancer made available to the public.

They make way too much profit off of their chemotherapy BS (which can kill you quicker than the cancer itself, it's what really killed Patrick Swayze).

Spy novelist John le Carré dies at 89
The British author died of pneumonia at the Royal Cornwall Hospital on Saturday night, his family confirmed in a statement on Sunday. “We all deeply grieve his passing,” they wrote in a statement. The literary works of le Carré, the pseudonym of David Cornwell, include Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, among others.

Tony winner and Broadway legend Ann Reinking has passed away
The Tony Award-winning actor, dancer and choreographer, who is known for her performance as Roxie Hart in Broadway’s Chicago, died at the age of 71 on Saturday night in Washington. Reinking’s sister-in-law confirmed her passing with Variety.

Jeremy Bulloch, who played Boba Fett in the original Star Wars trilogy, has died at age 75
Star Wars fans are paying tribute to the late Bulloch, who in addition to playing Boba Fett in the original trilogy also played Lieutenant Sheckil in The Empire Strikes Back and Captain Jeremoch Colton in Revenge Of The Sith.

Oscar nominee Peter Lamont, who worked on 18 James Bond films has died at the age of 91.
Lamont’s death was disclosed Friday by the official 007 account on Twitter, which posted a statement by producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli that reads, “Peter Lamont was a much beloved member of the Bond family and a giant in the industry. Inextricably linked with the design and aesthetic of James Bond since Goldfinger (1964).

Triple Grammy-winner K.T. Oslin, a member of the Nashville and Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame, has died at the age of 78.

NFL Hall of Famer Kevin Greene dies at 58
Greene's family and the Pro Football Hall of Fame confirmed the third all-time in sacks' passing on Monday. No cause of death was given. The football world continues to mourn the loss of a legend as tributes pour in from players and media professionals alike.

John 'Ecstasy' Fletcher Whodini Rapper Dead at 56
Fletcher, who co-founded the legendary hip-hop group Whodini, his death was announced Wednesday by Questlove, who remembers Fletcher as a "legendary and a pivotal member of one of the most legendary groups in hip-hop." John was living in the Atlanta area, and his passing has come as a huge shock to close friends. So far, no cause of death has been announced by the family.

Rebecca Luker, star of Broadway's 'Sound of Music,' dead at 59
Her agent, Sarah Foster, confirmed the news to the New York Times.
The three-time Tony nominee announced in February that she was battling Lou Gehrig’s disease, otherwise known as ALS, according to the newspaper. It's unclear at this time if the disease resulted in her death.

Emmerdale and Waterloo Road actress Kay Purcell dies aged 58
Her death was announced on Twitter by her agents, David Daly Associates. Purcell played two roles in ITV's Emmerdale and Gina Conway in Tracy Beaker Returns, a role she reprised in its spin-off series The Dumping Ground. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 and was told she had inoperable liver cancer earlier this year.
