Spoiler:
-The Marshall iirc is a character from one of the books.
👆

Spoiler:
Cobb Vanth is a character from Wendig's Aftermath series. There are a few differences in Cobb's characterization between the novels and the show, but the same general concept. Also, the novels heavily alluded to him possessing Boba's armor, but it wasn't outright confirmed. The show [obviously] confirms it.

I liked the episode a lot. Wasn't expecting to see Boba Fett this early. Seem like they are going to have a lot of new characters appear this season so I'm hoping they can fit it all in neatly and it doesn't get jumbled.

Also- any thoughts on how Boba survived?

If the show follows the same premise as the Aftermath series, then:
Spoiler:
The Sarlacc that Boba fell into was gravely wounded/killed in RotJ, due to the explosion of Jabba's sail barge -- this is how the Jawas were able to start scavenging through it in the first place. So in that case, they probably found Boba's body inside the Sarlacc, removed his armor, and left him for dead.

Of course, the show could easily go somewhere else entirely with his backstory. We'll see. /shrug

Ah ok. I hadn't read it, so must have just heard about it in passing.

Morrison's character doesn't necessarily have to be Boba Fett. Couldn't he just as easily be a different clone troop survivor?

The clones grown on Kamino aged at roughly twice the rate of normal humans. So as of The Mandalorian, they'd be in their 70s-80s. Flip side, Boba would be around 40 years old at this point.

Imo, Temuera's character looks much closer to 40 than he does 80:

You could also argue that openly living on Tatooine for the last few years could have physically aged Boba beyond his years. Look at Kenobi, for example... He was canonically just 57 here:

The harshness of Tatooine takes a toll on you. /shrug

I think it's the fact that there are two suns making your skin age faster, dunno

Spoiler:

-Krayt Dragon
-Krayt Dragon Pearls from KOTOR
-R5 is the droid Luke/Owen almost buy in ANH
-Boba Fett (and his armour)
-The Marshall's speeder is a repurposed pod-racer engine (not sure if it's Anakin's though it sounds like it)
-Boba's jet pack still goes off when hit a certain way.
-The Marshall iirc is a character from one of the books.
-Then there's the obvious stuff like the Death Star, the repair droids, the sandpeople and the banthas etc.
lmao i probably just caught one or two of them

That not being Boba don't make sense being the whole episode revolved around his armor but they could be tricking us but I doubt it.

I think it was supposed to mimic last years Baby Yoda reveal.

pretty good episode.. though i wonder if seeing the krayt dragon foreshadows a'sharad hett in the kenobi series

There were 'leaks' circulating a while back that A'Sharad was going to be the primary antagonist in the Kenobi series, but apparently that plot got scrapped.

Even though I really hate returns to Tatooine (there are just so many planets to explore we don't need to go back to this one really ever again). This one was well done. It was nice to see interactions and stories with the Sand People outside of their typical generic savages status in canon. Finally seeing a Greater Krayt was a treat as well.

Excited to see where the Boba Fett plotline goes.

Was that speeder part of Anakins pod racer?

The woman on Tattooine says "Thank the force" so how the f*ck does Mando not know about it?

I also laughed at dudes straight up just trying to punch him in the face despite knowing he has this uber tough armor on.

Does anyone think Moff Gideon was an Inquisitor for the Empire?

I don’t think he has the force

Seemed like it to me.

Doubt it. He's probably just a highly trained human.

The Krayt Dragon pearl is huge how did I ever use it to amp my lightsaber in Kotor 1?!
