Second Amendment
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
There are no absolute rights in the Constitution. They are all subject to government regulation.
This should go without saying, but there are retards on the board that needs this pointed out to them.
Another example:
First Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Yet if I threaten a police officer with violence, yell "fire" in a theater or "bomb" on an airplane, I can be arrested and charged with a crime despite my right to free speech, because as a society we make exceptions to the rule for the greater good. The deplorables seem to always forget this when it suits their needs.

And who made up the militia? Everyone.
2A rights are absolute. New York is about to find that out.

The police chief said that Mr Dicken had shown "proficient" and "sound" tactics in firing at "the gunman with a handgun from quite a distance", despite having had no law enforcement or military training.Mr Dicken also gestured for other shoppers to flee behind him "as he engaged and closed in on the suspect", said the police chief. He fired 10 rounds.
Mr Dicken - who was lawfully carrying a concealed pistol - was at first handcuffed and questioned by police, before his version of events was confirmed by CCTV footage.
"Many more people would've died last night if not for a responsible armed citizen that took action very quickly within the first two minutes of the shooting," Mr Ison said.
"I will say his actions were nothing short of heroic," the police chief added.
A true American hero. Lawfully armed, taking out an unlawfully armed villain the ridiculous gun regulations did nothing to stop, as they only affect the law abiding.
If you leftie lunatics had your way, this hero would have been unarmed, and the shooting spree would have continued for who knows how long.
10 dead and the Shooter is on the loose still

I'm not above killing them softly
If they continue to refuse to treat these people like dignitaries
Well, the important part about cdtm's post was this bit from his very own article
But such outcomes are unusual. Only four out of 61 such attacks last year ended when armed bystanders engaged the active shooter, according to an FBI report in May.
Cdtm inadvertently made a good point -- this "good guy with a gun" miracle only occurs 4 out of every 61 mass shootings. It's almost like this is some exaggerated phenomenon gun lovers keep mythologizing, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

That isn't taking into account averted shootings.
Obviously something that doesn't end in violence won't make news.

I have an idea.Americans should be allowed to own all the guns and ammo and accessories they like with no restrictions but they have to carry every piece of kit everywhere at all times on their person. Literally 24 hours a day.
Sorted
I mean I'm up for it, but forcing someone to do a good thing is still forcing them. 🙂

It's part of the romanticized "White Savior" they love to push.
If it were true, the data would show it considering just how many guns owners are in the United States. Fact is, when there's an active shooter, armed bystanders tend to run, not fire back. Rare in US for an active shooter to be stopped by bystander -APnews
Then there's the case of John Hurley, who stopped an armed lunatic, only to be shot himself by police in the confusion.
