He didn't strike me as a very good shot, so yes it likely helped him a great deal. however Trump is pushing the ban in response to the Florida shooting. where the bump-stock wasn't used. therefore I feel very safe in saying that it's a political move. rather than an honest attempt to save lives.

Fair enough then. I also don't believe Trump is doing this because he actually cares about people dying, otherwise as you said, it would have happened after LV. He's feeling the pressure that he has act in some manner and it's a rather small safe act in regards to his NRA masters.
