No, you implied that I was somehow suggesting that we promote mall-cops to armed guards, and let them protect schools.
What I was suggesting is exactly as you said- it's a perfect job for veterans who have combat training, and severe difficulty finding employment after leaving the military. They could easily be paid to guard schools at all active hours, and put them and their training to use. Also, most schools already have counselors, so it wouldn't be too hard to engage in treatment for any possible PTSD. It's typically a very straightforward process in mending ones PTSD, depending on the age one develops it.
