Sentry was at a level beyond conventional heroes at that point. Bendis gave an interview where he explained that the scenes main purpose was to convey this. That even heroes as powerful as Thor were like "f*ck this".
If Wonder Woman couldn't fly, that fight would've gone down exactly the same under Bendis.
Hell, an assembly of New Avengers would take on Darkseid and probably win under him.

Not fan fiction. I remember the interview very specifically. He emphasized the point of how the stakes were raised. Sentry and the Void were beyond conventional heroes. He has the Void as the biblical God's angel of death in one scene and owning Molecule Man in another while having the Sentry's power contain the Void.

Pretty much. Doom nearly made the mistake by accidentally using a spell on him. The lasso would likely be the worst thing that she could use on him which would make him realize who he really is.

Yeah, that's nice. Diana held her own against Nekron via her weapons. Sentry is a light work out.
Thor got his face planted into the dirt by a conventional Superman. Diana withstood sustained attacks from a bloodlusted Bestiamorph Superman and a DD virus amped Superman. I don't give a 1st*t what your transparent deflection was. Sentry is nowhere near powerful enough to tear Diana apart. Period.
Why would it do anything to Sentry, lol. Its rewritten the structure of reality through the universe. Hed utterly neutralize him via the fires of Hestia, turn him back to Bob Reynolds before decapitating him, or most likely forcibly reintegrate him and purge the Void from him permanently. After all Diana isn't a dumb brute barbarian like Thor.
