I'm basically scaling.

For example, if character A performs a particular skill with greater ease or finesse than character B but B performed a more difficult skill than A ever shown then I scale A up to be able to do that difficult skill just has easily as B done it.

The logic actually works the vast majority of the time and makes sense in movie portrayals.

Snoke treating Rey and Ren like fodder with so little effort causes me to scale his ability and skill up when faced with a tougher challenge (fighting Sid).
