Snoke showed he matches up with Rey and Kylo. Both were handled quickly and in decisive fashion. Rey had the true spirit of a Jedi and wanted to press on despite being ridiculously outclassed. Ren knew he couldn't stand toe to toe with him in a fair fight.
He demonstrated how powerful he was. He utterly stomped everyone who stepped to him in the film. we also see both can be a threat to Luke. Hell, Ben beat him while Luke was actively connected to the force and at his peak. 😂

Snoke is by far the most impressive force user and despite Luke shitting his pants just sensing her power Snoke took her to school. Luke fell on his ass when she pulled out the saber. Snoke is the greatest SW character of all time. Kylo is currently third. Kylo is more evil than Vader via the first film. Vader is kind of pathetic tbh. He was Luke's ***** in Rotj. Ben already beat Luke after a nap. Snoke was beyond Kylo in direct conflict and overall a much more effective leader than Kylo. Kylo is impulsive and quick to anger which is a huge weakness. Snoke as I said was the most powerful force user. Both of these guys would shit on Vader who still couldn't best Kenobi straight up in ANH.

It's painfully obvious from Palpatine's dialogue when he switches from you will die to a helpless victim begging for aid that he realized his powers weren't enough to defeat Windu hence the change in tactics. Play the victim and appeal to Anakin for help him since he obviously needed it.

And fact is Palpatine then feigned weakness. So how do you know Windu would have won the Lightning exchange if Palpatine didn’t feign weakness? You can’t possibly know. Even the official Star Wars sight places doubt on that.
Either way I agree Windu could have killed Palpatine beforehe began firing the Lightning so don’t think he threw the fight.
