King Thanos doesn’t assume anything. He has faced Surfer in this particular state. In the quote I posted, he tells his younger self that he would not know about this Surfer because he hasn’t faced him as he is now. This would mean that King Thanos has faced him as he is now and therefore is familiar with how much more powerful he is. It’s clear as day and the notion that King Thanos is assuming anything is you making something up.

They are millions of years in the future. He may have not seen Surfer for a thousand years. But clearly Old Thanos has encountered a future Surfer who is more than the Surfer Young Thanos used to beat up on. The dialogue is clear as day on that. King Thanos does not armor up, grab the Twilight Sword and go into major seious mode for regular old Surfer.

Thanos cut Galactus' head clean off. I was like wow. The Surfer must be more powerful than his regular old self, because according to a previous issue, Dione says that they wouldn't be facing off against some weak Fallen One which Thanos commented on as being weak, and wondering how his older more powerful self could be concerned about him.

Going back to how easily Galactus lost his head, and comparing how much trouble Surfer is giving the trio, it would be easy to say that the Surfer is much more powerful than Galactus. Right? I mean is it that difficult to draw upon that conclusion while holding it under that light?

@abhi, the annhi wave has always been controlled by the CCR. Thats how Johnny usurped control from annihilus in the negative zone. its not farfetched to assume he has it.

There is some hints here and there.

When he came back from that God Quarry he came back powerful enough to contest Phoenix Thane. Than the comic explains as he grew older he would become more powerful. Plus prior to this comic run, there was some was some foreshadowing of where rank between cosmic tier and that placement was pretty damn high. Higher then Skyfather that’s for sure.

But all in all it’s that beer gutt. Them Coronas and Miller Lites is Thanks Verizon of Mario’s power star.
