Sure, on the first read but on the third? It's a very linear series of events. In that one page we go from their expectations, to the reality of what happened, to what they did to pervert Bill's home. Classic storytelling. It's one of the reasons Walt's run was so awesome. It had depth but wasn't convoluted.
