i can't recall him ever absorbing sound. With that said, based off of his powerset in conjunction with his ability to generate/ manipulate sound, I'd say that he shouldn't have any trouble absorbing it.

👆 you're not joking either. Psylocke used her tk to protect herself and everyone else from an entire building floor being blown up by gambit, OML walked through professor X and his mental constructs, and mystique is confirmed by fantomex as being able to split herself between two seperate bodies.
