You’re not even arguing using anything concrete or meaningful. “Thane of all people” means what exactly? Thane possesses the full Phoenix Force during that battle. If Orion defeats Darkseid, is it not a feat because Darkseid is “family”? Is there a nepotism rule on this forum?

Exactly. Thane had the PF. The PF automatically grants its user cosmic awareness, which means that the user automatically passes the neophyte stage, and is promoted to vet. Thanos' comments while in combat with Thane should be taken with a grain of salt.

Ok. Do you know who Thane is? Let me give you a little backstory for the uninitiated. He was a regular joe nobody, got hit by the terrigan mist and found out he was the son of Thanos. He was used by one of the Black Order to double cross Thanos, later went on to be duped again by J'son whilw being mocked by Maw. After get owned by some new villian chick of the month he went back to Maw lost everything got wrecked by Glaive, depowered thrown in jail. Got duped again into working for Death. Put together a team to kill Thanos, got killed by Nebula iirc his death sparked a transformation into a phoenix avatar. went on a killing spree in deaths name. went after dad, was convinced not to kill him. later regretted it. went after thanos found him, fought him, lost. phoenix was stripped from him. begged for forgiveness from daddy thanos. thsnos left him imprisoned in the god quarry. the end.
his whole existence has been a pawn to others. he is not a fighter or a warrior or brave. hes a guy with daddy issues who found out his dad is the biggest bad in the universe. he has no respectable feats. oops i lied he can encase people in amber (think han solo trapped in carbonite) but he isnt fluent in his power. hes literally done nothing of note.
also every phoenix avatar is not the same. Rachel, Cyclops, Jean,Thane were all avatars and none were equal. Its the same thing with whoever holds mjolnir...Odinson, Foster, Masterson are not the same, or whoever weilds the power cosmic, Surfer, Nova, Firelord or whoever wears the venom symbiote...Brock, Parker, Gargan or whoever has the infinity stones Doom, The Hood, Thanos etc...just because you have the power does not mean you know how to use said power or apply it.
