I honestly have a feeling you just said how much you love him and he signed something for you and that's it.

That's how it usually goes.

thats more than enough to make him cream his pants, myth.

Personally I'm always wary to meet anyone I admire because it can be awkward if they turn out to be a horrible person.

Yeah, agreed.

To be fair nothing DMB said suggested otherwise. He could have met Jordan for only 20 seconds and still felt the event itself was exciting and engaging.

👆 Well the event in total lasted about 4 hours with a lengthy talk he gave in there about the subject material of his book and I was in the third row a few seats away from the center of the room, and there's something about seeing someone in person as opposed to online that's a lot more engaging, and then after most people left there was a private Q and A session for the VIPs that I partook in that had a very personal atmosphere to it.

I wasn't too concerned about it because I've seen hours and hours of footage of him online, interacting with people, getting emotional over people putting their lives together or finding meaning in life, keeping his composure under some serious bullshit etc. The way his students have said that his classes changed their lives, the things he's described helping people out with in his clinical practice, his extensive commentary on human moral character etc. It was pretty obvious to me from everything about him I know that he's a man of good character, and seeing and meeting him in person only reinforced that vibe.

There was actually a point where he got asked how he deals with the ongoing slew of hitpieces about him *cough* this thread containing an example *cough*

Anyways something interesting he brought up was that at one point on the same day there were two hitpieces written about him. One was headed with a photoshop of him next to Hitler in an article calling him a Nazi, and the other one was from the alt-right calling him a shill for the Jews and their conspiracy to take over the world or something.

Peterson said he contacted the author of the first one about the Hitler picture saying something along the lines of "Really a Hitler comparison? You can't just use that for everything you don't like because then you won't be able to properly use that comparison when it's needed." So he says they then took that picture out of the article saying that they made a mistake, to which Peterson told us something along the lines of "Yeah that was a mistake, you just accidentally photoshopped me next to Hitler, saved that somewhere, then uploaded it to the article. Some mistake."

Something else he said about the hitpieces that I thought was really cool was along the lines of “The people who write them reveal more about their own character and motivations than me. They might not notice what they're revealing about themselves when they’re writing the article... but their readers will...”

Please tell me they try and claim he wants the government to redistribute women to needy men. That would make my day.

No, they never go that far. Seder and his crew just have a laugh at Peterson's discussion with Rogan.

So apparently Jordan Peterson actually explained what he meant by enforced monogamy to that interviewer... and the interviewer chose to misrepresent him horribly in the article and claim he wanted the government to redistribute women to needy men despite knowing better.

Also important quote from Peterson. "So you're a young man, and all the women are rejecting you... whose got the problem? It's not all the women. That's a bad road to go down. If all the women are rejecting you... it's you."

The second one's from the h3h3 Podcast, isn't it?

Nah it's from the Joe Rogan one. He might've said the same thing on the H3H3 podcast though.

Will applaud Peterson for saying that, not only is it true, he's hitting a large portion of his acolytes right in their little incel testicles and he knows it.

It's not like it's inconsistent with his other statements.

Yeah, I think I saw it on the h3h3 one – I'm glad that he's reinforcing this belief in multiple public appearances, although yet still his critics will ignore those moments of certainty and instead try to score points by finding out the stupidest ways to misinterpret other, vaguer things that he's said.

I only exposed myself to Peterson's work recently, after about a year of assuming that he was the kind of far-right pseudo-intellectual rabble rouser that he gets painted as frequently. I get the feeling that certain people are very scared of his views, and are using the most dishonest smear tactics possible to make rational people avoid him before they've heard him speak. The fact that it seems to be working is kind of terrifying.

3 minuites in and i'm already seeing strawmen.

He's saying believing the equality of out comes is equally bad as believing er should hang black people!

Uh, no, he never said it was equal or unequal.

There's so much legit shit you could use to "obliterate" peterson(99% of what he says when speaking with harris or dillahunty"😉, no need for this bs.

Peterson is really well spoken and not this far-right nut job people portray him as. I took my gf to see him speak in Toronto this week for his lecture. At one point he addressed the “pay gap” and I could feel my gf tense up and ready to be all “WOMAN HATER” until she heard him speak. Very well put.

Dr. Peterson is what made me realize how toxic the far left is. No different than the far right. The left will shame and misconstrue ahah you say and the far right will hound and mock what you say. Reflections of each other.

As a liberal it was kind of shocking and saddening to see that the vocal minority is so toxic and controlling.

Take Jordan Peterson. This man has 10s Of hours of footage of him speaking. I might disagree with what he says to some extent, but imagine scrounging a 3 hour talk, to find a 3 minute segment where he says something SOME people might find insulting.

I don’t think anyone could spend so much time in the public spotlight and not say somethig at least some people would disagree with if they were in anyway talking about topics that are important, powerful and they were passionate about.

Oh, he's still a nutjob:

-> without religion we lose art

https://youtu.be/FmH7JUeVQb8?t=41m54s

-> there are artists and poets who think they're godless(secretly religious tho)

https://youtu.be/FmH7JUeVQb8?t=1h28m24s

-> Genuine athiests would be like this murderer in a novel(no worries tho, coz athiests arent really athiests #freethinking)

He has many odd and questionable views, yes.

Nutjob, isn't what I'd classify him as, though.
