He turned Dooku, one of the greatest minds into his soldier, and dispatched him to do his bidding. He manipulated the council, got himself elected into the highest rank in the Republic. He shrouded himself in the dark side and basically laugh in the Jedi councils faces everyday because they never realize he was the one pulling the strings.
He force Yoda to retreat.
He had the Death Star build in secret.
He ruled the galaxy unopposed for nearly 20+ years.

Yes, he betrayed him. An old fool. Vader betrayed Sidious. Vader ended Sidious and in an embarrassing manner where he screamed like a victim all the way down.
Yoda lost the high ground and troops were on the way. Yoda was a huge failure though he even bragged about failure to Luke.
He ruled over a pathetic resistance for a few decades in a Jedi barren era. It is like bragging over having a bigger army only to lose to said pathetic army that he put in that position. Pathetic.
Snoke cucked the remnants of his empire and would have defeated the resistance unlike Sidious who will fail again. At the end of the day Sidious is the guy who gets routinely beaten despite having numbers and forces on his side.
