I think even with cdtm's explanation, which was a good one, the meme still doesn't really hold much water when it comes to liberals in particular, at least no more so than any other political group in existence.

In fact, cdtm's example makes it seem even less accurate in regards to exemplifying liberals as opposed to other political groups, as evidenced by your other post in some other thread about how liberals cannibalize their own more so than conservatives. If liberals were all just reading the same mindless script, then they would not also cannibalize those on their own side.

I remember how there was a painting that was literally just a blank white canvas with a caption "this triggers the left" or something to that effect, and lo and behold, there were articles complaining about it.

I think the nonsense of it has really just become an imitation of itself.

I was talking about Democrat politicians when I talked about them going after each other.

Truth be told I do see a lot of disagreement among my left wing friends in general. They argue all the time about which idea is good or bad or how far a certain thing should be taken.

Only when those left leaning people step out of line and get targeted by the masses, they usually apologize and then thank the people for calling them out and educating them.

IOW, they acknowledge that stepping out of line is wrong and are thankful for people providing them a script for what they're supposed to believe.

The right certainly does it to, but I see it much more often on the left. but that might just be because I watch more left leaning programs.

A fair few, but it usually doesn't extend to things like people getting fired, banned from places(both public and private) and harassed in public. that's where the far left shines. if you go against them, they try their best to get you fired and make sure you never work again.
