Depending on what Mueller's investigation finds, the Senate could potentially turn on Trump, career politicians wanting to distance themselves from the Trump connection for future races.
Weaselman Paul Ryan bailed out because he saw early on that the House was likely going to flip and he didn't want to be the guy who lost it. He also wants years of separation from the Trump connection for his eventual return to politics and run for President.
Imagine a future race where Newsom and Gavin are going head-to-head, the smugness alone will be drowning, while they both smolder at the camera.

Democrats bragging backfired, yes. Nothing wrong there. We all know this.
They did fall for it. And, as I pointed out, the younger registered voters didn't turn up. Had they actually turned up, the senate would not have seen the red wave. And we'd have a massive blue wave in the house.
Democrats were not only disappointed and scared of the lack of a blue wave and the slight senate red wave, they are mad in some instances. At each other and the GOP. Nothing wrong there.
And Taylor Swift definitely went full libtard.
