Look at all the pretend outrage from conservatives. Allow me to simplify this for you:
Does Party A have the right to insult Party B? Yes.
Does Party B feeling insulted justify his assaulting Party A? No.
Does the right of Party A to insult Party B somehow protect him from assault? No.
The only thing preventing Party B from assaulting Party A is his own self-regulation.
In this instance, Party A is trying to exploit the principles of Party B, and in so doing made a tactical mistake: He believed that Party B would always honor the speech rights of Party A to his own detriment, and that is simply not the case. Everyone has his limit, and when Party B reaches his, his consideration for Party A goes out the window.
No one is condoning violence, they are only stating that sometimes if you mess with the bull, you get the horns—right, wrong, or indifferent.
