How does Voldy wins? What great feat of mental powers does Voldy have I am unawared off?
People using Gollum as a way to downplay the ring fails to remember, that Tolkien made it abundantly clear that Hobbits have one of the greatest mental strength in the realm.
People also forgets, that the ring lays dormant with any but it’s true master. Slowing corrupting them Mind, body and soul. It doesn’t matter if it takes a day or a 1000 yrs, the ring will always find its way to his true master.
Elves of the highest order were all afraid what would happen if they were to fall in the rings sway.
Voldy’s lust will only be amplified, while the ring slowly corrupts him until his nothing but a husk. And once the ring is done, I’ll leave him and go find it’s true master.
There’s a reason Tolkien said there is only ever one true master of the ring.

All your crap aside, the Potter verse is not even a tenth of the greatness that is the Tolkien verse.
Tolkien verse is up there with giants like Dune. Where as the potter verse will be forgotten in 50 years or so, while Tolkien lore shall be remembered as one of the best form of fiction stories.
