I know, not mad. I was just saying. Just like when I see very old Disney/WB cartoons with racist tones, I don’t necessarily cares because that was what was accepted back then.
If it was now, then I’ll have a problem.

iirc it was Bendis. He wanted the trunks back. I wasn't a huge fan of the Rebirth costume myself, but it wasn't terrible.
While it is very tempting to blame everything on Bendis... it's sort of an unwritten rule in both Marvel & DC that every major character needs to go back to his or hers classic look/outfit, sooner or later.

I don't disagree, Superman was always going to go back to the trunks eventually. I just could have sworn I saw someone post something about it. And, to be fair, he hadn't had the rebirth suit that long either.
Even Iron Man - who changes suits more often than any other hero - has had his most current model made look like one of his classic armors.
"Muscles" (including the mandatory six pack), red and gold, mouth-slit, everything:

Then you have the likes of Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America and so on, and so on.

Yeah.
I do like that Iron Man armour, though I think there's too much red in the legs.

Feat-wise, it's helluva impressive, too.
Although that recent newtons/graphene page was a little facepalm worthy. But perhaps there was some context to it.
Calculations have never been comicmakers' strongest side, but I don't see how damaging graphene would be problematic, given how Tony punched through Cardiac's adamantium-vibranium dome.
Even if we assume that alloy was of lesser quality, it should still be vastly superior to any RL materials.
