This wasn’t thought out properly. Knull was annihilating everyone. His weapon gave a mere mortal the ability to kill alien deities across the universe. Stupid way to defeat/kill a being that was likely present before the current marvel cosmos.
They could have done a lot more than GOL shows up, merges with Eddie and easily fries Knull in the sun. A guy that was threatening every plane of existence including the afterlife.
I think they just wanted to end the series and couldn't figure out how to properly. The last few major threats haven't been all that threatening at all in the end. Knull, Black Winter etc with old threats like Galactus and Phoenix being watered down.

Originally posted by Sin I AMAfter Venom stripped him off of his symbiote armor they should have went with the idea that he severed his connection to the hive (with the help of Flash Thompson, who was an Anti-Grendel symbiote within the hive at this point) and taken control of it (as it was done at the end of the comic) and then Kang BFRs him back before the dawn of time where Knull is fine and pissed as **** plotting his return somehow.

Also I'm not so sure that it was the sun that ultimately got the job done.
