The first series was in 1995, black and white comic. then they had another one in 2007. And that's about it.

They also had a cartoon.

As for J'onn... well, unlike Supergirl, he doesn't have anything to back it up.

He's been compared to Superman/described as more powerful since, like, forever.

And we all know he's barely a street level.
