it's an easy resolve though, just make more limiters like supes can use his hv but it taxes his power reserves is a good example,

Unless restricted to the point of complete uselessness it would still be worth it.

If you're untouchable, unevadable and you can deal an arbitrary amount of damage while simultaneously having that damage increased by virtue of greater impact speed, then why drag out the fight? The drawbacks would have to be rather severe for this not to be the optimal method in the vast majority of cases.

another trope that disappeared entirely was speedsters consuming shit tons of food because they burbedtso much enery

That would be a bad idea because it would bring attention to that their feats have to correlate to their caloric intake, which doesn't add up considering that they frequently use their powers to mitigate natural disasters.

I think like you said, speed is just one of those things that requires a serious amount of suspension of disbelief when it comes to comics. I will say though, that there is a bit of an asterisk to it imo. With the Flash? Sure, it can be a bit messy, but I think it's a lot easier to work around it when you have a character like Superman or Black Adam who for them, speed is a power that they don't rely on as much.

There are plenty of ways to get around that.

I don't mind the calories thing, though. That's just funny to me and can easily be explained away by speed force metabolics or some shit.

last panel shows where the beams were in relation to Adams body.

The scene where he is punching Darkseid? That's your proof?

If it weren't for all of the other sources referencing events from that particular series, I would completely agree. But frankly, you'd have to ignore quite a bit of material to believe it's non-canon, which is something I don't typically like to do.

-It's referenced in Starlin's Thanos mini.
-It's referenced in the Thanos Sourcebook.
-It's referenced in the 2006 and 2008 OHOTMU bios for virtually every single cosmic being that Thanos killed.
-It's referenced in a few of the Fact Files.
-It's referenced in Starlin's newer Infinity arcs.

tl;dr
So yeah, I personally do think Starlin's "The End" is something of a special case regarding canonicity... That is to say: there's [a lot] more published material to suggest that it is canon, than there is suggesting otherwise.

Of course folks will disagree, and that's fine too. 👆

Starlin approves of this post, re-reads it several times and pleasures himself to it.

But yeah, well said. You def did your homework on this one. And let's leave it at that, since that topic is a can of worms.

Are you really going to sit there and pretend you don't understand the concept of reading several comics that all have a similar event/theme in them, and then drawing a conclusion based on the evidence? Really?

Interesting...I just watched this tonight and I don't know how I feel about it

It was bad.

It was atrocious

I dunno. It was uneven to me, not necessarily bad or good

The same scene, Black Adam is literally side stepping the beams. These are the same beams that Flash struggled to outrun and Superman failed to outpace.

It was fine I thought. Plenty of issues, but enough good to balance it out too.

Superman failed to outpace.

Clever

Clever

Funny how he brings up a younger, less powerful Superman having issues when an older, more powerful Superman was able to do basically the same thing Adam did.

Yes, funny that.

Not from you, that's for sure.

Come on, this is gold.

You're right, this sounds like PIS.....very compelling argument here.
