The short and dry version;
You know how Whirl was making paedo-bear jokes? James Gunn was caught up in a controversy when he was working Marvel over similar tasteless jokes, made a long time ago when everyone was making 4chan style shock jock jokes.
Basically Gunn did normal tasteless bad jokes for his era and someone dug it up to try and ruin him. Stilt is calling Whirl on referencing Gunn because Stilt probably thinks he's trolling about paedo jokes or something.
Or maybe Stilt really does think anything you say ever defines you, I dunno.

Happened a good few years ago. 2018. His old shitposting tweets were exposed by Mike Cernovich, a right-wing conspiracy freak.
Gunn lost his job at Disney, then got it back and got hired by DC as a bonus. So the scandal worked out for him quite well.
