Comic Book Questions & Discussion

At least we'll see which people have bad taste 👆

Let's do a discussion like we do in the tier thread, the topic will be a lot less controversial and only a handful of people here actually read comics anyways. It'd be a valuable resource.

We should probably start with some of the most well known characters before I start sharing my opinion on Kang and D-listers in general...

*whoosh over my head now that I re-read it*

But yeah, a general discussion thread would be nice. It would be hilarious if it would turn into a Superman debate thread, too.

You mean D-listers like Kang, I assume.

Every Marvel character is a D-lister to you ahah

There's only one A-list Marvel characters and that's Thor.

He stands for everything Marvel is at the moment.

Well shit, that's an excellent point.

Thought I'd ask if its okay, the last issues I read of the Doomsday Clock was when Jor-El unveiled himself to Superman, I know I've got to read on from that but I can't remember what comic it was, wasn't it one of the Action Comics?

I like the idea in theory, but consensus would need to be reached, especially given that people can differ in what they believe to be great arcs. You could say "we can just add every suggestion", but that could get unwieldy quickly.
Have it be based on voting like the tiers thread and only have votes that provide any decent elaboration be counted?

So I couldn't say "i like secret empire because cap is a nazi LOL" and have my vote be weighted the same as someone who provides a fairly in-depth reason for why All Star Superman should be in the list.

There will definitely be differences of opinion, like personally I think World War Hulk sucks balls but if three Hulk fans come in and provide some in-depth reasoning on why they think it's a good (or even just "essential"😉 read for Hulk fans I won't be butthurt about it making a list of Hulk required reading, nor should anyone really IMO. Bentley will have to sit there and stomach all of the Batman stories on the list. 👆

But as someone who wants more recommendations for comics to read I think it's a great idea. 👆

I've read all the good Batman stories already.

It was a pretty short experience.

it would be good to have a read list that highlights the feats many of us tend to build off of, so we can see all the feats that get thrown around out of context too.

like the weird silver surfer stuff, the doomsday stuff, molecule man, sentry, source wall, etc. some of this stuff seems like base knowledge for some because there have been threads upon threads and scans too, but I think it would be cool and maybe garner more discussion and debate. tbf I dont read much DC outside of green lantern but I would/could read arcs I knew would be useful to debating on the forum.

It would be about quality, not feats.

Your idea of the perfect comic = Kang, Batroc and Mothra having a threesome.

We can relate it in terms of quality , character growth, arcs and less feat driven.

I mean you can't really take for instance the red hulk series by jeph loeb and put it in the same boat as garth ennis's punisher. Yes quality is subjective but some things are neon lights.

Ok, since this is the new CB Questions thread:

Why the newest Time Gem bearer looks like a f*cking Green Lantern...? 🙁

So the new doctor strange issue

Galactus vs Dormammu, place your bet guys

Justice League Dark was pretty epic. Holy shit.

Got a good chuckle out of this:

Why? Because Dianna and Zatanna were able to trounce the Lords of Order AND repair the damage they cause to reality...with the insignificant portion of 'throwaway magic' Mordru gave them, lol? It was an insane battle... They were manipulating/shattering the comic book panels and shit.

If they can do that, just imagine what Mordru himself is capable of...
