IIRC Momoa went into a casting for a DC movie and was convinced they wanted him to be Lobo and then told him he will be Aquaman.

to make lobo looking cool is easy

making aquaman cool is almost impossible

Ultimates has been a fun read.

I've been enjoying it. The latest issue with the GotG is fun.

Beautiful art

What is that 15 Hiroshimas LVL referring to?

I assumed 15x the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima, so 15x15 = 225kilotons of TNT equivalent.

Think it's supposed to mean Ultimate She Hulk took "225 kt" to the face.

from the Carver diaries:

Dark is looking right at me in an attack position and I cross the distance, tie his entire body up before he realized what was going on, lol

This being the discussion thread, please let us discuss it.

In depth

It's a decent feat, probably a little less than a modern day high end nuke.

Thor though....I refuse to read any team stories with him in it. It's literally just him getting beat up the entire comic.

Yeah it's kind of a weird one to judge if you think about it. Only like 1%(and I think even a little less) of the Hiroshima bomb actually detonated because the process was so inefficient. So I wonder I'd it means 15 times what detonated or 15 times the total load cause there's a big difference between those two numbers lol

Turning "Hiroshima" into a unit also seems a bit.... tasteless.

But whatever. America Chavez is picking up some herald level feats in that book. Not sure if she's supposed to be the 616 version tho.

Commander Star is actually KGBeast. Bruce just stated again that he's one of the best fighters in the world

Anyone read the Berzerker series by Keanu Reeves? I've seen good reviews but was just curious if it's worth it before I check it out.

On a similar note, I'm looking for more obscure reads outside of Marvel and DC. Any good recommends on that side? Ongoing books preferred.

BRZRKR is enjoyable enough for what it is and worth a read, but the story itself isn't some original masterpiece, and the main character is basically just an Eternal Warrior (Gilad) ripoff. At times it almost feels like Keanu released this series just to test the waters for an inevitable film adaption of BRZRKR that he can star in... Especially when the main character is also drawn in his likeness. /shrug

Well there are a lot of good ongoing Indie titles out there, so it just depends what kind of stories you're interested in..? Right now I am thoroughly enjoying Image's "Ghost Machine/The Unnamed" brands, because there's a little bit of every genre sprinkled into each title: Geiger, Junkyard Joe, Redcoat, Rook, Hyde Street, etc. are all excellent.

brzrkr is mid tbh, but worth checking out if you like action and violence. it's really just "what if john wick was immortal and had superhuman stats".

and i can confirm that redcoat is really good 👆 i need to get around to reading some of the other ghost machine stuff. from a quick google search it looks like all the stories except "the blizzard" and "rook-exodus" all take place in a shared universe right?

You had me at John Wick. 😂

The Ghost Machine comics sound good. What's a good starting point?

If you like Redcoat, you'll like the others. 👆

The Ghost Machine stories/characters are only interconnected if they are also part of "The Unnamed" brand. So Geiger, Redcoat, Junkyard Joe, The Blizzard(Redcoat appeared in the final issue, so it is linked as well) are all part of a joint universe... And it looks like we'll probably get even more Unnamed titles in the future, which would be great.

That said, the other Ghost Machine titles(like Rook, Hyde Street, The Rocketfellers, etc.) are all their own separate continuities for now, but still highly recommended. Geoff Johns has been knocking it out of the park with this project.

For "The Unnamed" brand specifically:
Geiger v1 #1-6 ---> Geiger 80-Page Giant ---> Junkyard Joe #1-6 ---> Geiger: Ground Zero #1-2 ---> The Blizzard(TPB) ---> Ghost Machine #1 ---> Geiger v2 (ongoing) / Redcoat (ongoing)

*In that order and you'll be up to speed.

And it doesn't matter where you start with the other Ghost Machine titles, because they're all self-contained stories.

Amazing read. Marvel need to make this happen...
