If Morrison's Superman [and in general] can be defined by 3 panels, it's this:

and this:

👆 That's what defines Superman to me. Not whether he can break a planet with a step, or the size of his power level.. It's moments like these that define the character.

👆 And I think this scan from All-Star Superman is excellent defined Superman too. Those words I think that perfectly defined what Superman essence is: Human's highest aspirations, Insipiring them with ideal and good values, People will chase him, And in this process will stumble, And fall and crawl, And curse, But eventually they will reach the end point(human's highest aspirations)

One of my favorite aspects of A/S Superman is that he fully came to terms with his imminent 'death', and was perfectly fine with it. His ONLY motivation for staying alive was to make the world a better place and help as many people as possible before he died:

And I would also add this to Phil's character-defining list (under Morrison):

👆

Goddammit, if Morrison had a 50+ extended run on Superman...like Batman.

It's really odd to me that Morrison hasn't had an extended run on Superman, given his love of the character.

Literally all he'd have to do is shoot DiDio an email with how many issues he'd want the series to be, and *poof*, it'd be greenlit no questions asked.

Makes me wonder if the, what was it called, Superman 2000? Attitude is still in effect. Too much politicking at the company to allow someone like Morrison the freedom for an extended run.

But then again, they gave the character to ****ing Bendis, so I dunno...

I think they just enjoy watching the world burn, on Bendis.

Bendis hasn’t been that bad

He had some okay story ideas but his characterisation and dialogue was awful at times.

And I don't even like Jon, but what he did to him was a dick move.

Thing/Hulk:

Even made it a point to say that Hulk was packing his full rage++ here.

😂

Lol, they actually have the Heart Force as an actual thing. Nice to see it acknowledged.

I mean, Hulk recovered faster than Thing off-panel... So at least carver still has that.

And he was mind controlled and it never said his FULL rage. At the end of the day, Ben defeated a CONTROLLED Hulk. Good for him. Would love to see a fight with the actually Hulk that isnt being manipulated.

He probably gets one shot again

Jessica Cruz at only 2% of her power, near depleted knocks blood from Darkseid mouth. He actually felt the punch.

So what do you suppose the intent of this dialogue is?:

Aside from that, when was it implied that being controlled by PM weakened Hulk?

It has been said that when a character is being controlled, it isnt a portrayal of what would happen in a fight. Diana DID own Superman in sacrifice and people, including peeps with power here was saying it doesnt apply since Superman was being controlled. Did this all of a sudden changed?

Because that showing was beastly. I can only imagine what wouldve happened if she was at full power.
