Was Ben serious enough to willingly suffer massive punishment just in the name of KOing him? If not, then irrelvant example. Furthermore, there is no shame in losing to Herc -- the guy is up there with Thor. None of this changes Slott's opinion of him though.

Also, I have no idea what you're trying to do here. Okay, so Ben failed to beat Herc but then beat Devil Hulk after a long, brutal match and getting his arm shattered in 10 places for his efforts. So what? We all know how Herc fared against this Hulk, even with Jane Thor's assistance. This was way before the so called amp, so there is no excuse. Herc performed a planetary (or close) feat just an issue after his encounter with Hulk, so its not like he wasnt given his due.

That makes the feat highly suspect then. Perhaps Aunt May could defeat Galactus, since the cosmic hierarchy is IN FLUX.
