Did they actually use the names in the story? If not it still stands as just an easter egg.
before this i considered it non canon for marvel but canon for dc because access and many mentions thru the years on there part.
now marvel says it so its and cant use names like dc couldnt
this is actually great for comics as a whole and i hope with all the sneak mentions by both we get to see thorian agaqin lol
Originally posted by DarkSaint85If nothing else, it tells us that the writer/artist of that particular short still remember(and acknowledge) those crossovers... Which is pretty cool.
Basically. Call it an Easter egg, call it the writer/artists personal beliefs, call it editorial decision, whatever way you want to slice it - fact remains, In a canon comic, we have Jane musing on the previous wielders of Mjolnir.
Now, does that mean it's logical to start arguing that Wolverine can beat Lobo in a forum fight "cuz that page makes everything that happened in DC vs. Marvel canon" or w/e..? Of course not. Imo, it's just a cool little nod to the crossovers that a lot of casual readers are unlikely to pickup on.

Well, in the latest issue Clark alluded to the Kents being dead. Which is weird considering the Pa Kent scene.

Yeah, it's strange.
So far as we know, Ma and Pa Kent are dead in the current/canon timeline... But Pa was shown exchanging dialogue with Clark in the first issue of this series, and there were no indications that it was a dream sequence or whathaveyou.
But in the issues since, there have been a few subtle indications(but no explicit confirmation) that Ma and Pa Kent are dead... And there's really no other measuring sticks in the series with which its canonicity can be gauged.
I haven't even been able to find any articles/interviews online that clarify its canonicity, ffs. Really odd. ermm

http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=17043204#post17043204It's a cool easter egg, I guess, but there are better sources to support the canonicity of JLA/Avengers... /shrug
Yes, and I think it's f*cking hilarious.
Exactly. And the Grandmaster's bio make reference the event:
Then, the JLA/Avengers is also canon to Marvel? Because according this handbook, the crossovers used different versions of the characters (Earth-7642):
Are the Marvel characters > DC characters, isn't?

Sounds like the editor dropped the ball on the first issue, and someone had to tell them and the writer to sort shit out.
There's not a single editor in Marvel and DC who cares so deeply about this stuff as us. Most of them treat it as a chore and choose to ignore continuity altogether.
It's sad, really.

That's true for the most part, but I have to believe someone like Johns, who just spent months working on getting DC's continuity straight, wouldn't take kindly to that kind of screw-up.

Spent months. Wow.
We've spent a decade and a half on KMC alone, bro 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

I also noticed Martian Manhunter is back in his classic outfit there, which is a marked departure from his current look.
Writer/editor cannot be contacted via twitter or w/e?
Look, if carver is saying it's non-canon, then it's a safe bet it's 100% canon.

I wonder what credentials you need to be an editor
Back in the day, it was usually people who were writers that got promoted. Now it seems like it's the comic book equivalent of management ie, they're supervising writers because they're not good enough to write themselves.

True, but at least this way, it'll have some legitimacy. It's not like Marvel is ever going to listen to any of us about X-Men continuity, and that's all over the place.

Marvel has problems with their entire continuity, not just the x-corner of it, I'm afraid 🙁
Bringing back dead characters, appearing in the old costumes - Marvel does it all the damn time.
Perhaps DC is more tidy about, however I really doubt it.
