To be fair to Bill, he did tremendously there tbh, considering he took hits consecutively from Thor [All-Father and power cosmic amps], then had to fight Thor [All-Father], until eventually succumbing when Stormbreaker was used. He even got his licks in and Thor was bleeding. Not that surprised to see Thor deny Galactus, considering how Odin/Old King Thor are portrayed against him.

Bill did not come out of that battle looking bad... At all.

Thorbags will use that showing many times in the future, "forgetting" that he had Odinforce.

Count on it.

"Mjolnir is Mjolnir" will be the new "Hulk is Hulk".

Beta Ray Bill, because I'd have a space ship and magic. Also I'd look tasty.

This is the only right answer.

Took comics six years to catch up to my love for BRB. About time.

My interpretation was that Thor discarded the power cosmic in order to fight Bill on more equal footing. Galactus got pissed that Thor threw away his gift, and unsuccessfully tried to stuff it back into him again... And the fact that Thor flat-out denied Galactus there is a pretty absurd feat in itself, given that Galactus just amped himself on one of those 'hyper-powerful' worlds immediately before this fight..

But yeah, I think that was a PC-less Thor who fought Bill. Not sure why in the f*ck they made Stormbreaker so brittle in comparison to Mjolnir, but w/e. It was still a really good battle.

Yup, Galactus was fed and amped, so that's pretty nutty. I think it's pretty dumb because.....it takes away from Stormbreaker. It's a little unnecessary imo. Stormbreaker should be indestructible even by Mjolnir. Great fight by Bill though.

1) Did Thor maintain the King of Asgard powers when he fought Bill or go back to base? The former makes sense, but obviously I'd lack the latter more 😉.
2) What does the power of the King entail? The OF was a divine PC in all aspects, and could do nearly anything including warping reality. Can Thor do that eventually, or is it basically Kaioken (I.e. he's stronger, tougher, and faster)?

Hopefully, Bill and Sif will give Thor a giant bleeding rosebutt in round 2.

Rocks truly are Thor's greatest weakness.

Explains why Sif needed to save Thor from Thing in Thor's own comic.

I hope so too.

I think he just dropped the PC, and returned back to his "King of Asgard" levels.

Seems like the PC is meant to stack on top of/amp the power Thor already has... Or at least, that's how it looks to me. /shrug

Beta Ray's always had great damage soak. This just drives it home.

BRB has always been praised for his durability, yes.

Gotta agree with Rage that Stormbreaker breaking against Mjolnir was weird. Not a fan of that scene.

It doesn't make any sense imo and defeats the purpose of the hammers. The reason they're so formidable is because they're basically indestructible and allow you to punch WAY out of your weight class.

I.e. why Thor during the Classic era of Marvel had such ridiculous feats or BRB recently BFRing Sentry. I hope it's one of those things that is undone and forgotten about quickly.

I'm off the camp that if Galactus attacked BRB, Stormbreaker should hold and give him the ability to cause some annoyance even if he can blinked out of existence otherwise. Unfortunately, SB = Mjolnir is hard with the MS. Mjolnir is one of the most powerful weapons in the Multiverse and there's an in-canon explanation now.

Oh Thor how I missed you my love

Has a new origin for Stormbreaker been given that I just never saw?

I get that Mjolnir is being wanked to hell in this, but it shattering Stormbreaker like that(which Thor seemed to know full-well that it could do) just doesn't sit well with me. Up until now, they've always been portrayed as identical weapons(both in conception and function), but now it's essentially a piece of tissue paper compared to Mjolnir.... ermm

Maybe Thor imbued Mjolnir with a huge portion of Odinforce or some shit like that?

Just trying to make sense out of it.

Or Cates doesn't care *shrug*

Yes, this is the most likely explanation.

Marvel editors are VERY lenient these days, so each writer does whatever he wants.
