Was it Matt Murdock in the main Civil War mini-series?

Or Danny Rand wearing his costume?

Pretty sure it was Danny.

what about comics?

Too many to choose. Kirby, Simonsen, Byrne and Loeb all had their greatness, but also silliness.

Final Crisis and Morrison is obviously one of the best ones.

It's not mentioned in the core series and CW Chronicles doesn't address it, either.

That's why I'm wondering.

Who was writing DD's book at the time? Brubaker, right?

Timm Verse Darkseid was legit scary. He was eloquent, rarely raise his voice, or demanded you do something more than once, and once he raises his voice, you know you’re close to death.

His best 2 scenes was the series finale when Clark fought him after he was mind controlled. Even defeated, he showed Clark who was truly God. When the slaves came up and raise, and carry Darkseid away.

When he killed Turpin, just for the hell of it.

Final Crisis or Mister Miracle, imo.

Yasssss! That was the answer i was looking for. Darkseid is!!!

But seriously i think DS is best when used as a force of nature, malevolent and dark without a hint of compassion

Millar ****ed up. Civil War also had delays iirc.

Brubaker and later Bendis treated it as Danny having been DD at the time of CW.

Final Crisis just depicted him perfectly all around, imo. From his dialogue, to his overall endgame.

Mister Miracle was a mindf*ck to read, but the "DARKSEID IS" overtone of the entire series was brilliantly done, and perfectly fitting. 👆

I see.

But what about the scenes that cannot be easily explained, such as this one?

It's clearly Matt. So maybe on the beginning, it was him and he got replaced later...?

Also, fun fact... if such shit happened now, nobody would bother arguing that Danny cosplaying as DD in Matt's book has any effect on what happens in the event getting published during the same time.

That's how bad continuity errors are these days.

But I've seen this subject being discussed both here and on reddit, so I thought I'd ask.

Yeah it's shite. I just treated it as Bendis retconning it, and that it was actually Rand in such a good disguise that everyone else was fooled.

Somehow, I can't see a blonde barbie girl (Danny) cosplaying as Murdock, a blind ginger.

Sure, he could dye his hair and wear contact lenses, but I still don't see it.

Unless it was actually mentioned?

Not specifically. You basically have two options.

1- When Civil War was being released, the DD run at the same time had Matt in prison. He escapes prison, goes to Europe and while there, mentions that Iron Fist is running around in his suit, and had been since Matt went to prison months earlier after being outed as Daredevil. This arc runs for months/years.

2- You can try to find a gap in the DD run where it would fit that Matt had time to get involved in Civil War.

The "Iron Fist was in disguise the whole time" one just fits better and is the simpler explanation, imo.

How much free time does Danny have, if he can go around cosplaying as some other character?

Considering he can't even maintain his book (unlike DD), he's got a whole lot of time.

Ken's a Barbie doll, and everyone loves him way more the Ryu.

Then again, he has s wife and kid, while Danny has Heroes for Hire.

Well, Danny used to date Misty... but I'm pretty sure Misty has a gigantic cock.

Wtf Strucker was thinking?

And Doom is not much better, letting him land a direct punch like that.

Only one to capture that Kirby charm is Walter Simonson.

Nobody else really "gets" Kirby Darkseid. He had a sense of humor and a touch of Joker lunacy, he wasn't this ultra serious tin pot dictator everyone else portrays.

It would be pretty funny if they resolved the Iron Fist/Daredevil thing by showing that Matt’s legal team was trying to argue that Daredevil wasn’t a criminal and shouldn’t be arrested while Iron Fist was turning Daredevil into a very public criminal by openly defying the Registration Act.

With friends like that, who needs enemies.
