X-Men aren't alone in that.
For me what changed is that it used to be that editors were almost always former writers. They would get promoted having done the work and paid their dues. Nowadays? Editors, from what I can tell, are people who couldn't cut it as writers, but still want to make the decisions that writers make.
No, they're not alone, but I would argue that they suffer more than most. It's a lot easier to **** up X-Men than it is, say, Batman or Captain America, etc.

Supposedly Martin sets it up that if he were to die before finishing everything, he has a few key people he has discussed the outline and ending of the story.
Even if Martin were to finish the story, there will still be too much unanswered questions for just 2 books to fill. Unless those 2 books are 1000’s of pages long.

Phil have been on my ignore list for a while now. Theres no way I had anything to do with his departure. The question should be, why are all of the Thor, Nova Prime, basically 90% of the marvel debaters gone. I feel confident JBL or Alberto have anything to do with that.
