great art, terrible story

What else can be expected from Johns?

He should've kept making Aquaman funnies and stayed away from the rest of DC.

Can’t even trust his Bat Family with that knowledge

Funny how Joker - with his super-sanity and obsessive behaviour - hasn't figured out that his wife still lives.

Astner having another meltdown

Yep. We know for a fact he still thinks of them as shown in Three Jokers Book 2.

He likely does know they exist but he doesn't care. As he hallucinated a perfect image of what his son looked like even though he technically never met him during the dinner scene

My biggest issue with the arc is that by the end of the book, the status quo has been pretty much restored. There are no lasting consequences that will drive future Batman books unless Johns himself decides he wants them to.

I honestly took it to be Johns trying to show that, as Batman's identity doesn't matter to the Joker, Joker's identity doesn't really matter to Batman either.

Bar protecting the family at least.

Yeah, you're probably right.

I just much prefer Joker's identity not being known by anyone(even Batman.) A legitimate, defined backstory sort of...I dunno...cheapens his character for me.

Even though(like you said) no one but Johns is likely to ever touch on it again.

Yeah. Joker never needed to have his origin expanded upon. I mean, I took from it that he was flat-out canonising The Killing Joke origin, but it wasn't needed, I agree.

I agree. I prefer that the Joker's backstory isn't known to anyone, like in The Killing Joke. But I think the failed comedian backstory is indeed his actual backstory, it's been heavily implied several times in post crisis continuity that it's his actual backstory. Hush Returns also confirms it, but rewrites it in several ways, and I didn't like how they did it. 2019 Deluxe edition of The Killing Joke says that Joker has difficulty remembering his own backstory because of his insanity:

Johns stated that Three Jokers has the same canon status as TKJ.

Meaning that fans (and other creative teams) are allowed to go the "I don't like it, it didn't happen" route.

killing joke was canon,

Yeah, but Alan Moore confused the readers by saying he wanted it to be a stand-alone Elsewords story or some shit.

And now Johns wanted to mimick Moore, saying more or less the same thing.

You'd know that if you were a real DC fan 😛

hey guys we got a nerd over here

NNNNNEEEEERRRRD

You know how rumors get started. Banshee can control all that power.
So that the sum 7 billion is Banshees limit of his scream.

Yeah, though that's always the problem with Joker, imo: you can imply all you like, but hammering out a definitive origin was supposed to be something DC would never commit too.

They're trying to have their cake and eat it too.

That is... horrifically irresponsible, unless Darkseid War is somehow not canon anymore?

Sorry, it was Fabok who said that:

It's in continuity like Killing Joke is. You can take it, or leave it. We are going to introduce some pretty gutsy stuff in Jokers that's never been done before. So the fans can react to it and they can decide if they want it part of main continuity or not, like Killing Joke.

Johns is not articulate enough to make a coherent statement, probably too busy playing with his own food, while sitting in the room with no doors or windows.

Ah ok. I used to like Johns. But he's... he's not what he used to be.

You know, if Banshee could control other people's voices, that would be pretty sweet. Like, absorbing all that sound somehow.

Well what I mean is you know how an actor or professional or natural can control the conversation. Banshee could physically dominate at it.
