pr1983

VS forums are gonna be fun if that happens... and comics will still be shit.

I'm still trying to figure out what fan base DC is trying to cater to with this continuity crisis every other month

I can see it now:

Every thread with Superman:

Carver "That happened in Batman! Different Superman!"

"JLA didn't do that! Define your Superman!"

"Prove the Superman in Wonder Woman did something mainstream Superman can do!"

all mainstream superman is canon, but have fun convince marvel fans

Superman's feats never count anyway.

superman feats only counts within a week, by carver standards

I don't understand why Superman's high end feat never count despite other Superhero's high-end feat always count.
Why do people in vs forum hate Superman so much?

😂 Might as well, their continuity has always been shit anyway

Superman highest strength feat is bench pressing planet and even that was inconsistent in the same story. It's not that nobody accepts his feats, it's people that tend to sell head canon and shit burgers

What are you saying?
Superman has lifted infinity.

And eternity!

Then when it is official from DC, then I guess....mod rulings to say that all versions count/don't count/whatever?

We had a pretty good guideline with n52 - if the OP hadn't specified, then it was n52, unless they hadn't garnered enough feats, after which it defaulted to pre-52.

Not QUITE the same, but Marvel has always had all of its comics in continuity (barring parallel Earths of course). So there's no such thing as Silver Age Thor, or 'Classic' Captain America etc, we have scans from the 1960s just as valid as last year.

Of course, we on the forums use 'Classic' Kingpin, but they are exceptions, and technically speaking, we could always use 2010 Kingpin, for example.

Honestly, I dunno anymore.

My opinion:

IF DC does end up consolidating all versions of Superman, across all eras of continuity, then that would become the default version of Supes in a versus match... Essentially every feat he has ever performed would be on the table, as that would be the "current"(albeit muddled) version.

If the thread starter didn't want all of Superman's feats usable in a match, however, then the burden would fall on them to stipulate a specific version in the OP.

*That would basically be the case for ANY characters affected by this potential 'reboot', btw... Not just Superman.

I believe I answered the power question in Hellion vs. Husk

Sounds like it's influenced to the Marvel Method.

It could definitely work. Most of their problems seem to stem from editorial-favored writers getting to dictate the continuity.

For solo books yeah, it's fine.

But what do we do when in an issue of JLA he does something ridiculous and people are like "well i wanna use that feat!".

I mean, good ****ing luck using a character with none of the history or feats.

Unless of course, it's an Earth 1/Earth 2 type deal or something.
