Abhi, to be fair, you would argue all gods of the multiverse, both "real" and fictional ones, to be weaker than your Superman.

Infinite Crisis #5. Kal-L looked like he had the advantage at the end but it's inconclusive. When two characters are equal, one with more motivation would have the advantage.

The reason was also given, he had grown weaker by the time of COIE.

The fat Surtur was just a stupid What If story from a failed universe. He killed the spectre so it’s obvious that was pure nonsense where anything can happen. Especially the worse the better.

Also Superman is powered by hope and Love. That’s why he can’t lose.

Kal-El wasn't interested in fighting Kal-L nearly as much as vice versa, and the story, both leading up to and during IC, made it clear to me that "El" is the superior character in terms of power.

kal-l is golden age superman

golden age supes is the weakest era for supes
