Yeah its old news but I didn't see an Aladdin thread so I made one.

To put it as eloquently as I can....

Yeah , Will Smith's Genie looks like trash. Even if in the finished product hes blue.

Even John Leguizamo's portrayals of Genie looked better.

Ugh just use a CGI genie to look like the original and dub Robin Williams voice over it

This is a disgrace to the memory of Robin Williams. Hollywood will do anything to make a buck even if it means shitting on the memories of millions of people.

I can see this bombing pretty hard actually. Smith doesn't have the box office power he used to, and the other two are relative newcomers. And, based on the backlash so far, fans of the original don't seem to care for the directional and stylistic choices they've revealed so far, and that's putting it mildly.

I really want to see a terrific movie that is not a mostly copy and paste of the animated Disney Aladdin movie.
That is bush league same as sequels that mostly reuse the same freakin story.

Probably shouldn't take it so personally or as an assault on Robin Williams. Just sayin'.

Yeah, if he was still alive, I think they would no doubt reprise him for the role, like James Earl Jones as Mufasa.

As it is, I have no hopes for this movie unlike the Lion King which at least looks promising to a point.

Yeah. This is going to be a Live Action Musical so that Automatically puts into n "The No Fly Zone" right off the bat.

Yeah, musicals are not my thing either.

I tried to watch that Beauty and the Beast live-action musical remake and only made it about 10 minutes and couldn't take it anymore.

So this is probably a pass for me, too.
